What It Is
ARA-290 (cibinetide) is an EPO-derived peptide that provides tissue repair and anti-inflammatory effects WITHOUT stimulating red blood cell production. It selectively activates the "innate repair receptor" — a different receptor than the one EPO uses for blood-building. This means you get EPO's healing benefits without changing your blood counts.
How It Works
Activates the innate repair receptor (IRR), a heterodimer of EPOR/CD131 found on immune cells, nerve cells, and endothelium. IRR activation switches macrophages from inflammatory (M1) to repair (M2) mode, promotes nerve regeneration, and reduces inflammatory cytokines — all without touching the classical erythropoietin pathway.

Improved corneal nerve fiber density and reduced neuropathic pain in sarcoidosis patients.
Promoted small nerve fiber regeneration in diabetic neuropathy studies.
