Dermorphin
What It Is
Dermorphin is a naturally occurring opioid peptide isolated from South American tree frogs. It's 30-40x more potent than morphine at the mu-opioid receptor. What makes it scientifically remarkable: it contains a D-amino acid (D-alanine at position 2) — the first time a D-amino acid was found in a natural animal peptide, challenging fundamental assumptions about peptide biochemistry.
How It Works
