Glutathione
What It Is
Glutathione is the most important antioxidant you've never heard of. It's present in every cell at millimolar concentrations — thousands of times higher than vitamin C in the blood. Your liver has the highest levels because it's ground zero for detoxification. The problem: oral glutathione has terrible bioavailability (your gut destroys it). Injectable glutathione bypasses that entirely.
How It Works
Glutathione works on multiple fronts: direct ROS scavenging, serving as a cofactor for detox enzymes (glutathione S-transferases), recycling other antioxidants (vitamins C and E back to active form), and Phase II liver detoxification (conjugating toxins for elimination). The GSH:GSSG ratio is the single best indicator of cellular oxidative stress.

Levels decline with age, chronic disease, and toxin exposure — correlating with increased oxidative stress.
IV glutathione is studied for skin lightening — it shifts melanin production from eumelanin to pheomelanin.
Pilot studies in Parkinson's disease showed motor symptom improvement (larger trials had mixed results).
