HMG
What It Is
HMG (Human Menopausal Gonadotropin) contains both FSH and LH activity in a roughly 1:1 ratio. While HCG provides LH stimulation alone, HMG adds FSH into the mix — which is critical for spermatogenesis. FSH acts on Sertoli cells in the testes, which support sperm development. For fertility restoration, HMG + HCG together cover both sides of the equation.
How It Works
FSH stimulates Sertoli cells (sperm support) while LH stimulates Leydig cells (testosterone production). The combined FSH/LH activity more closely mimics natural gonadotropin signaling than either alone. Used in reproductive medicine since 1961.
