SNAP-8
What It Is
SNAP-8 is a topical anti-wrinkle peptide that works like a milder version of Botox — without the needle. It interferes with the same SNARE complex that botulinum toxin targets, reducing muscle contractions that cause expression lines. It's the 8-amino acid upgrade to argireline (hexapeptide-3), with improved potency in vitro.
How It Works
Competes with SNAP-25 for incorporation into the SNARE complex needed for acetylcholine release at the neuromuscular junction. Less SNARE assembly = less acetylcholine release = less muscle contraction = fewer dynamic wrinkles. Unlike Botox, it doesn't cleave SNARE proteins — the effect is competitive inhibition, making it reversible and milder.
