Thymosin Alpha-1
What It Is
Thymosin Alpha-1 is an immune system peptide produced by your thymus gland. It's approved as a pharmaceutical in 35+ countries (marketed as Zadaxin) for hepatitis and as a cancer immunotherapy adjunct. The thymus shrinks with age, and Tฮฑ1 production declines accordingly โ which is a major reason immune function deteriorates as you get older.
How It Works
Tฮฑ1 activates the immune system through multiple pathways: it triggers toll-like receptors on dendritic cells, promotes T-cell maturation, enhances NK cell killing activity, and increases MHC class I expression (how cells present threats to the immune system).
