Cagrilintide
What It Is
Cagrilintide is a long-acting amylin analog from Novo Nordisk. Amylin is a hormone co-secreted with insulin from your pancreas after eating — it helps regulate blood sugar and appetite through pathways completely separate from GLP-1. How It Works
Activates amylin receptors (calcitonin receptor + RAMP proteins), which suppress glucagon after meals, slow gastric emptying, and act on brainstem appetite centers. These pathways are additive with GLP-1 — meaning cagrilintide and semaglutide together produce more appetite suppression than either alone.
